Postgraduate studies

I haven't really thought a lot about doing postgraduate studies. I may have thought about some areas of interest but there is no course on particular, and they are a little outside of my Social Science spectrum. Right now, and because i have to write this entry, i'm looking at the ones that the university offers, and the only area that piqued my interest was on the "Food and Nutrition" spectrum, the course that caught my interest was the master on food and nutrition, with either an specialization on "Healthy Food" or on "Human Nutrition". I never liked Biology or the "Hard Science" when i was on High School, but I always had a thing with food and nutrition, so like on my third year on the university i started doing some research on my own about how the body works, how public policies were conceived, and how society (and not necessarily science) decides what is conceived or not conceived as "healthy". So, after having a little introduction through the "Public Policies" subject on my career, as well as the "Health & Society" subject, i started to think that Social Science has a lot to say about food and nutrition, and about the ways we have conceived health promotion. So, to sum thing up, i feel that a master of this kind could give the more "rough" tools that are necessary to really be able to criticize the way that health promotion has been conceived as a public policy.

"What? Your are telling me that eating fat is healthy?"

But on other matters, i haven't really made an exhaustive search about others postgraduate courses, and i have already made a decision to try to run away from this country if i ever want to study other things. Maybe on other countries i could find a more elaborate course, as Chile tends to implement policies through external researches, and it fills like an importation of "development" on the field. And besides that, i doubt that these courses have a critic discourse about the food and nutrition field outside of the classic conception lent by the bio-medical field. Of course, the idea of running away from this country would imply that i don't want a course that's learned though distance, i would like it to be a part-time course or a blended system.
