What i'm really into lately

For the last couple of weeks I've been obsessed with 2 things. I've been watching Marvel Netflix Series and playing the "Persona 5" videogame.

The reason for being into the Marvel series is mostly because I've recently got a Netflix subscription and i wanted to watch something that got my trapped fast. So, i had previously watched the "Daredevil" seasons and got hooked, so i hoped that the other marvel productions where the same in that way; and I'm speaking of series that could get you hooked really fast where the job is to keep you wondering "what's going to happen next?".

So i started 2 weeks ago with Luke Cage and i really liked the character and how they introduced it as a "hero from below". As i got to the third or fourth chapter i realized that Luke Cage was a continuation to Jessica Jones, so i stopped watching Luke and quickly started with Jessica. I felt like a binger because i finished Jessica Jones like in 3-4 days last week. So, at the beginning of this week i had the job to resume Luke from where i left off, and i finished it off just yesterday. I really liked both series, they took a darker approach to the marvel characters than their "big screen" counterpart, and that just kept me wanting more and more.

Well, and for the "Persona 5" Videogame i would say that it is a bigger obsession for me than the Marvel Series. It's just that i got this game like 3 weeks ago and have been playing it for at least 3-4 hours daily. As a matter of fact, i just checked today that i got a total of 74 hours and 34 minutes playing it and I'm a little more than halfway through the game story.

More than the game itself I'm really attached to the series, as the "universe" of these games is really diverse and is like a mashup of things that made me love it. These games try to tie Tarot Cards, Japanese Mythology, and Jungian Psychology. All revolve around a high school student (the protagonist) who is also the representation of the "Fool" Arcana, and how he unlocks "Personas", whose are demons based on Japanese Mythology. So, on Persona 5 the thing is that the "destiny" of the protagonist is to tend to the "ruin" and that means that his life will destroy other's desires and destinies, and the only way to stop this is through "rehabilitation". This process is only attainable by establishing social relationships with other people that will alter his own destiny. For this, you (as the protagonist), must live your daily life on school, befriending other people, and entering the "metaverse", that is a representation of the subconcsious of the society. As the game revolves on Japan, the "demons" or "shadows" that are there are also based on Japanese Mythology. So that's like the general idea of the game, and I'm really into it right now. The thing that i mostly liked is how well played the developers tried to represent the cognitive vision of the people who has "power" on the society, and how they see the rest of society. Like politicians, teachers on a bureaucratic level, mafia leaders, transnational businessman, among others.

  1. Marvel Netflix series rules! But actually I prefer the comic books. The "events" are more complex than we think
